Mr. Ronning has been in healthcare management for twenty-eight years. He spent ten years as a hospital executive in downtown Los Angeles at St. Vincent Medical Center which was, at the time, home to the fifth largest cardiac program in the country, as well as the site for the third largest renal transplant center in the world, and it was the largest center for otologic surgery in the world. This base of experience with internationally recognized centers of excellence provided the foundation for his consulting which has been focused on the development and management of specialty organizations, particularly the development of strategy and culture. A nationally recognized speaker having given more than one hundred speeches he is also the author of more than 125 articles. In addition, the American Hospital Association has published eight of his books including: Successful Management Strategies in Cardiovascular Services:Centers of Excellence: An Assessment Tool for Cardiovascular and Orthopedic Programs Organizing Specialty Services, The Future of Specialty Services, Reinventing Centers of Excellence, and Through the Technology Looking Glass He is also the developer of CathPlan, a computerized planning tool developed for the American Hospital Association. Mr. Ronning earned his bachelors degree in psychology and business administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and his masters degree in hospital and healthcare administration from St. Louis University. |
