William M. Cherry, MHA, FACHE

William (Bill) Cherry is a seasoned and highly successful healthcare executive with a 10 plus year track record of successful management experience. Bill has worked for consulting organizations, academic medical centers, community hospitals and physician groups.

Bill worked with a number of hospitals to develop and implement cardiovascular programs. He successfully assisted one facility with no invasive cardiovascular services to evaluate service expansion and implement the program. In another case he assisted a hospital that offered diagnostic and emergent interventional cardiovascular service to evaluate and ultimately add elective interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery services. Bill successfully managed these projects where his accomplishments included the development of policies and procedures, work flow processes, design/renovations of the facility, physician agreements, equipment/supply acquisition, timely implementation and marketing of the program.

Bill also has experience in the evaluation, development, implementation and management of other services including physician clinics, ambulatory facilities and other inpatient services. In these projects he has demonstrated the ability to work with divers groups of individuals, communicate effectively, think strategically and manage resources.

As Director of Planning, Marketing and System Development for Yale New Haven Hospital, Bill managed major projects key to the organization’s success, developed strategic partnerships, evaluated clinical operations and participated in organizational strategy development with a staff of 15, a $5.5 million budget. Many of his efforts contributed to the program being listed in the HCIA Top 100 cardiovascular programs.

Bill has a B.A. in Public Affairs and Administration from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma (1990) and a Masters of Health Care Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri (1993). He is a member of the Society for Ambulatory Care Professionals and a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
